Customer photo review of Trombone Davis Signature Series

I really love my new Laskey MD52. It feels effortless in every register and the sound is just right. As a lead player I look for a vibrant sound that projects well, and this setup does exactly that. My search is over. Thank you Laskey! Peter Dahlgren, lead trombone DR Big Band

Trombone Davis Signature Series

This replaces a Denis Wick 10CS for my Conn 34H small shank alto trombone, which I use mostly for jazz. Very difficult to find small shank mouthpieces these days, but this one is a great match. Slightly more resistant but also way more expressive and easier to control tonality and timbre. Comparing this to larger throat mouthpieces on the alto, I am going to stick with this concept of using a smaller throat vs. the tenor trombone. The difference is subtle between a 52 and a 53 from Laskey, with the 52 being a bit brighter but also somewhat easier to control. When reversing the comparison, the 53 is a bit easier to control on the King 3B tenor. I used to only buy gold mouthpieces as I thought I had a sensitivity to silver, but as gold prices have more than doubled, I took a chance on silver recently and do not seem to be having any issues even with longer playing sessions. This mouthpiece is very comfortable to play. I have a small mouth so was concerned, but it is perfect!

Wonderful. Played 6 1/2 AL-S for 30 years, perhaps not much in the past 20 but it got me through a university orchestra and community band on a King 2B - this one seems more effortless, richer tone, much more supportive of my embouchure. Very glad to have chosen this mouthpiece!!

Store owner replied: Thank you for choosing Laskey, Daniel! We're glad to hear you are loving your new mouthpiece.

Very comfortable with a little “more” on the rim but still responsive across registers. Versatile all-around great mouthpiece!

Trombone Davis Signature Series

This is a fantastic mouthpiece. For me it fits perfectly. Clear in all registers without being too thin, instead it gives a nice round sound, thanks to the V-cup I think. Thank you Laskey and Michael Davis for this fantastic tool for musical expression.

It’s a very good looking mouthpiece, and I’m very pleased with the sound I can make using this.

Trombone Davis Signature Series

Beautiful Centered Sound, Warm and can brighten when needed, very comfortable Rim. Notes peak much more easily than anything else I have tried.
